The challenge

The largest payments people make, on a process built on screenshots and phone calls.

Property transactions involve some of the largest, most stressful money transfers people make, and the payment experience hasn’t kept up. Buyers juggle multiple payment vouchers (shovarim), manual transfers, and back-and-forth coordination with sellers, while sellers are left chasing confirmations and tracking payments across disconnected channels.

What should be a clear, structured handoff between two parties becomes a fragmented process built on screenshots, phone calls, and trust. We inherited a design direction from another studio, which gave us a starting point but also introduced its own friction: flows that didn’t fully account for the two-sided nature of the transaction, and components that treated buyers and sellers as if they had the same needs.

What we built

A two-sided system that turns property payments into a structured, trackable flow. Familiar for buyers, transparent for sellers.

Problem statement

How might we give buyers and sellers a single, structured payment experience, as familiar as writing a check, with full visibility on both sides?

The solution

A digital checkbook, with a view for each side.

A two-sided system built around a digital checkbook. Buyers get a familiar mental model, issuing payments one by one with full control over timing and amounts, while sellers get a real-time view of incoming payments, statuses, and confirmations on their side of the system.

Each payment carries the context both parties need: who it’s from, what it’s for, and where it stands. Rather than reworking the inherited design wholesale, we restructured it around the two distinct user journeys, kept what served the product, and rebuilt the components that didn’t.

Contractor side

Up to 1,500 buyers, managed from one table.

The contractor sees every buyer in the project, uploads buyer lists in bulk or assigns them manually in the sales office, and issues a payment voucher in one click.

Buyer side

Every voucher, with full details and tracking, in one place.

The buyer sees vouchers issued by the contractor and the ones they issued themselves, and can pay each one through a banker or by initiating a payment order. Vouchers can also be paid from mortgage funds, at Leumi or another bank.

Voucher payments can be spaced up to two years apart, so the app sends an SMS reminder when each one is due. It also replaces the physical binder entirely, consolidating every voucher, with full details and tracking, in one place.
